" I read this book many years ago (early 80's). " I like John Saul, but I don't like that he often kills off all the best characters. I read it in the summer between fourth and fifth grade and it will always hold a certain magic. " My all-time favorite book AND my first "adult" book. I couldn't get enough of John Saul back then. It passed a little time, but I won't read it again, and I don't recommend it if you are looking for something scary or intense. The plot was fairly basic, and the outcome far too predictable. In my early teen years I read mostly all horror books. According to the records I've always kept of the books I've read, I thought this book was good. " Love this book! Read it twice! Awesome scary!
